Intensive EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing delivered in longer, more concentrated sessions over a short period.

This therapy is particularly effective for those navigating complex trauma, PTSD, or preparing for major life events. Rather than spreading sessions out weekly, EMDR Intensives condense treatment into several hours or consecutive days to maintain therapeutic momentum and reduce overall treatment time.

Who have experienced Single-incident trauma (e.g., car accidents, assaults), Grief and loss, Anxiety rooted in early life experiences.

Benefits of EMDR Intensives

Opportunity for Accelerated Healing

Faster symptom reduction compared to traditional weekly sessions.

Intensive work can allow access to deeper memory networks that aren’t easily reached in short, weekly sessions.

Focused and Immersive Treatment

Extended sessions (e.g., 90 minutes to several hours/day) allow for:

-Deep processing without interruption.

-Minimization of time lost to reorientation or emotional warm-up/cool-down.

-Helps maintain therapeutic momentum across multiple reprocessing targets.

Clients don’t have to "hold" activated material between weeklong gaps.

Processing is often more complete in a contained setting, leading to better integration and   emotional relief between sessions.

Increased Continuity and
Therapeutic Alliance

Working intensively fosters a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship, which is critical when addressing difficult material.

The condensed format can enhance safety and containment in trauma work.

Lower Overall Treatment Time

Although the upfront time investment is greater, many clients complete treatment in fewer total hours compared to weekly models. Treatment recommendations will be provided at the end of the initial intake appointment.

Caveats:

Not all clients are appropriate for intensive work—stabilization and readiness assessments are essential. An intake appointment is required to book a intensive and compose a treatment plan.
