Stop Having the Same Fight.
Start Working as a Team.

ChatGPT Image Oct 5, 2026, 09_22_12 AM.png

You love each other.

But somehow, money, parenting, intimacy, trust, family, or everyday stress keeps turning into the same fight.

One of you pushes. The other gets defensive, shuts down, or pulls away. Neither of you feels understood.

And the problem still does not get solved.

The issue is not necessarily that you disagree. It is what happens between you when you disagree.

At Serenity First Counseling, we help couples identify the pattern that keeps pulling them into conflict, understand what is happening underneath it, and practice a different way of responding to each other.

Two Focused Ways to Work on Your Relationship Together

3-Hour Couples Intensive

concentrated, in-person or virtual relationship work.

Immediate Space to Understand What’s Keeping You Stuck

Sometimes 50 or 90 minutes does not feel like enough. You finally get underneath the surface of the argument - and it is time to stop.

A Couples Intensive gives us three focused hours to slow the pattern down, understand what is actually happening between you, and practice navigating it differently. Rather than trying to address everything in
your relationship, we identify an important recurring pattern or issue and give it dedicated attention.

Why an Intensive?

An intensive creates something that can be difficult to create during a standard appointment: time. Time to
slow the conversation down, notice what happens right before things go wrong, understand what each
partner is experiencing, practice a different response, and create a plan for when the pattern shows up
again.

The goal is not to solve your entire relationship in three hours. The goal is to understand an important
pattern, interrupt it, and begin creating a different way forward.

Build Change Over Time

Couples Reset Therapy

Some couples benefit from an opportunity to learn something, go home and practice it, come back, troubleshoot what happened, and try again.

Through Couples Reset Therapy, we identify the patterns keeping you stuck and work together to change how you respond when they appear.

The Couples Reset Therapy

  • Name the pattern you repeatedly get pulled into.

  • Recognize the cycle earlier.

  • Understand what tends to activate each partner.

  • Communicate what you need without immediately repeating the old argument.

  • Practice responding differently when emotions get high.

  • Repair more effectively after difficult interactions.

  • Develop a plan for handling the pattern when it returns.

Couples Reset Therapy may be appropriate if you want ongoing support and opportunities to practice what you’re learning between sessions. We’ll identify the patterns keeping you stuck, work on new ways of responding, and use sessions to troubleshoot what comes up along the way.

As therapy progresses, we’ll reassess your needs, identify areas that may need continued attention, and determine together what additional support would be beneficial.

Both partners must be physically located in a jurisdiction where I am legally permitted to provide therapy at the time of each virtual session.

Reconnect. Reset. Move Forward.

Start with an initial assessment to better understand your relationship needs, identify the patterns keeping you stuck, and determine whether the 6-Week Couples Reset is the right fit for you.

If appropriate, we’ll begin six weeks of focused couples therapy, with a reassessment at the end to review your progress and determine next steps together.”

Some couples need consistency. Others need space.

Let us work on the pattern - not just the argument.
